Activ Adventures offers comprehensive expedition packages tailored to the needs of your Bronze, Silver or Gold DofE groups.
We know the value of participants overcoming difficulties independently. Our participants finish their expeditions with vastly improved confidence, self-esteem and maturity and it is these transferable traits that we constantly bear in mind when planning and supervising our challenging but group-appropriate expeditions.
Training
The training programme can be delivered at your location, over 2 full days or ten weekly sessions. All aspects of expedition training are covered, including equipment, campcraft, cooking, navigation, first aid, emergency procedures and route planning.
Practice Expedition
The practice expedition is fully supervised and delivered in an area similar to the qualifying expedition. Occurs over 2 (Bronze), 3 (Silver) or 4 (Gold) consecutive days with teams on the first day walking with instructors practising and developing skills developed in training. Supervising becomes increasingly more remote on subsequent days as teams develop self-reliance, leadership and teamwork skills in preparation for the qualifying expedition.
Qualifying Expedition
The qualifying expedition, meeting all 20 conditions stated in the DofE Handbook, is fully supervised and assessed by our team of accredited assessors.

Pre-expedition paperwork pack for participants and parents, including medical and consent forms, kit lists etc. Support with all expedition paperwork, including notifications to operating authority, green forms and all risk assessments.
Comprehensive training programme delivered by our instructors, with detailed training workbooks for participants and online training videos and downloads.

Supervision throughout the expeditions from qualified and experienced instructors. Accredited assessors for the qualifying expedition.

A 24 hour emergency contact point to provide comprehensive safety and support systems for expeditions groups and parents throughout the duration of all expeditions.

Campsite fees and free use of our group kit (tents, stoves and fuel, group shelters and maps).
Costings
Schools and groups Bronze Expedition Package from £225 per person (minimum 10 participants). That's less than £37.50 per participant per day.
